Hadjar Darkhan from "Dragon Heart" by Kirill Klevanski

Hadjar is a man who is reincarnated into a wuxia world. After betrayal, terrible luck, and trauma he sets out to become the strongest so he no longer is a victim.

Hadjar would appear as a mysterious wandering swordsman who would recount some of his battles and if Hero could prove their own Martial skills then he would offer to teach him some things.

Some skills he would teach would be:
Vacuum Blade - A technique that cuts through space and forces opponents into striking distance.

Leaf of the Autumn Wind - 7 leaves fall from the sky and land on the enemy. Each leaf represents a slash from the sword infused with the mysteries of the wind. The sword slashes are unavoidable and so fast that they cannot even be seen.

Meditation of the Storm Dragons - A long-forgotten tribe of dragons, meditation technique. This meditation technique focuses the mind and makes their courage unwavering. Unable to be feared in even the most terrifying odds.

Artifact:
Tattered robes - The robes appear to be something a vagabond would wear. These robes have witnessed war, tragedy, and hardship. Infused with the will of Hadjar Darkhan will help the wearer when facing unfavorable odds. (if the wearer faces an enemy over "x" levels will provide a bonus to thier stats.)

cheers and thank you!

because i cant edit more the post on top or delete it, i make another post.. (sorry for the trouble i made)

i want to be Yang Guo or yo ko or Gaizhi he is the protagonist from The Return of The Condor Heroes , his name is depends on translation of the novel or the film translation adaptation.

he is a man with many masters because people like his personality, the personality is just like the hero in this game who sometimes silly but always have a big heart in every conversation... and the hero in this game can have many masters too after joining and leaving a sect (what i watch from people playing this game in youtube)..

back to Yan Guo, he is a Rebellious youth who become a hero in later age..

he meet people that like him and teach him things.

this is what  martial arts Yan Guo Learn

after talking about martial arts lets talking about woman in Yan Guo's life who likes him because this game achievement related to many woman anyway (hahaha)

Wow we didn't see this flood of replies coming but we love everyone's different take on Wuxia - it's a lesson learned for us too as we aren't the most familiar with all the characters you guys brought up (but very inspirational tho)

Big, big thanks to all of you who joined in and we'll crank up the giveaway keys to 20. Keep the good times rolling and we'll announce the final winners in this thread on Nov 26th 😄

20 keys ! Thanks, well, I'll try my luck then.

My pick would be Bai Yunfei from Upgrade Specialist in Another World, at least for the craft and upgrade abilities to build whatever I feel like and create all kind of interesting tools.

Too many lovable characters to choose, so it would be myself. I would hope that the adventure would be more unique than the usual usage for the MC like sword or saber, something not used a lot. Maybe on a more personally level, games have helped me become more better at socializing and made friends. So my persona in the new world would be someone who likes to spread happiness and make new friends as their main goal (kinda cliche.) Main artifacts or skills would be related to games. When fighting, perhaps a domain ability, artifact like a chess/go board, mirror, or a headset, etc. to create an alternate dimension where losing can affect the real world... sounds like the shadow realm 🤣

I'd love to meet Lyla and Zich or maybe a child of theirs from The Regressed Demon Lord is Kind. They are just so lovely together and just roaming the world together as a couple after the main story. If you mention to them that you hate the smell of fish and can spit out some profound profanity, they might just start to reminisce about old times and give you a little gift or point you towards some ruin closeby!

After reading around 7000 ish total chapters on various cultivation novels i recently started I Shall Seal The Heavens after taking a break from reading for a full 12 months. I have to say Meng Hao’s personality amazes me, i’m currently 200 chapters in and have to say that i love the story. A very scholarly like character that is driven by no particular reason to grow strong, besides him being involved in conflicts that are way out of his reach for now. An artifact that i think i’d bring if he could be implemented into the game would be the Sublime Spirit Scripture, it’s a cultivation technique that’s been lost and (obviously) is being practiced by the main character. After a certain point it starts so show it’s peculiarity and uniqueness which feels very fresh and different opposed to other stories bland cultivation manuals. Best of luck to all entries !

The whole domain ability concept sounds so fun and would be such a fun read, imagine the MC discovering his family practices a unique type of cultivation that, through his feelings and personality, creates an embodiment of his spirit into a whole new world where the odds are in his favor

While they would probably not be playable characters, I would love to run into Lord Third and Lord Fifth as NPCs. They are just a fun pair of characters. Borrowing from the descriptions on the I Shall Seal The Heavens fandom wiki:

Lord Third:
Its given name is Ultimate Vexation, given by Lord Fifth. It is unaware of why its name is Ultimate Vexation. Meng Hao usually refers to him as meat jelly, while he calls himself Lord Third naming himself after Lord Fifth, as he can only count to three.

His greatest wish in life is to convert every immoral being. He says that his greatest nemesis is Lord Fifth because he has spent countless years trying to convert him all to no avail. He likes to eat lightning to a certain extent; when Meng Hao was undergoing a Tribulation he used him as a shield, which caused him to be scared of Meng Hao.

Lord Fifth:
Lord Fifth is very proud. Lord Fifth is also very perverted. He loves to screw anything with fur or feathers any chance he gets, this is the reason for the Meat Jelly wanting to convert his immoral behaviors. Perhaps one of the most quoted lines from the entire novel is from the chant that accompanies of Lord Fifth's celestial spell formation:

Quote

Have faith in the Lord Fifth, gain eternal life! When the Lord Fifth appears, who dares to cause strife!

Three circles to the left, three circles to the right! Shake those butts…. Gaze upon the Immortal Execution spell formation!

As for how they could best appear in Hero's Adventure, I think having a random encounter with the Church of Golden Light they helped co-found would be great and could be a starting point for some quests.

"If you or your favorite Wuxia novel character could step into the world of Hero's Adventure or any Wuxiaworld, who would they be, and what kind of quests, skills, or artifacts would best complement their Wuxia persona?"

Man, this is a tough question! Most if not all of the novels here on Wuxiaworld are, ironically enough, not wuxia, but xianxia or xuanhuan; there are many characters that live within jianghu, and (especially early on) in their journeys they could be considered to be xiake or equivalent because they are pre-apotheosis stories and magical techniques don't feature highly, but there usually exist supernatural entities and magic still, so it feels complicated on that front. When I think Wuxia, I think Jackie Chan or Chang Pei-Pei or Jet Li or Sammo Hung movies in general (Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon comes to mind as one of the more fantastical examples), rather than the more supernatural-powered stories that I read here. This all said, xianxia is also commonly considered a subgenre of wuxia as well, so in such a case any of the xianxia protagonists could also be considered for this; it provides an interesting conundrum!

I think I would have to say, on the higher end of the power spectrum (xianxia), I'd have to go with Meng Hao from I Shall Seal The Heavens. Meng Hao's mentality is very strong and he starts out as a nobody who lucks into a great opportunity to begin his journey of cultivation, but he remains rather well grounded personality-wise, and the story elements, while they often veer off into the fantastical and magical in form, a lot of times boil down to some of the core elements that make wuxia so enjoyable, as well; issues of face, justice taken and denied, political turmoil, arrogant young masters getting their face slapped; the last one is unique to Meng Hao, that being his stealing everything so thoroughly not even the floor tiles are left behind, hah! I think taking him from earlier in the story would be best, but even an end-story Meng Hao I think would fit into a wuxia-based world and go about it while keeping his immortal nature minimal; much like the stories of immortals that reincarnate or otherwise restrict their true nature and live amongst the mortals as a mortal for a period of time. As for skills, quests, and artifacts that would best complement how he'd comport himself, I think a storage ring-type artifact would probably be the most suited to his true nature, letting him pick up items from afar without people noticing until it's too late; for skills, some sort of silver-tongue diplomacy skill that lets you talk your way out of situations you'd never think you could talk your way out of, most likely (he was known to charm the money out of a merchant's pockets!) and as for quests... Probably something involving a dangerous hidden ruin that is filled with treasure, or something more along the political side of things, using that silver tongue of his to mediate between two factions, for example.

On the lower power side of things (still xianxia), I'd have to go with Lin Xi from Immortal Devil Transformation. IDT is a much more down-to-earth story, reminding me more of something like Condor Heroes or similar stories that are mostly rooted in low power fiction, but with the twist of internal alchemy and qi and monsters and such still prevalent within the world. It's very much into sect politics both internally and externally, as well as how sects interact with the world outside of jianghu, which was a surprising addition to that sort of concept that I rarely see, since in many xianxia novels cultivation is practiced by everyone to various degrees, rather than it just being limited to the select few that go to sects, or who have some sort of natural tribal factor that lends itself to a form of cultivation, eg. shamanistic arts.  Lin Xi is very much an intelligent MC rather than a power MC (though he doesn't slack in that department either), so I think something that challenges the intellect would probably be good; something like a mystery that has to be solved, with several different potential outcomes based on how much you investigate and discover about the situation, to where the victim could even become the perpetrator of an entirely different situation that also needs to be resolved to get to the real truth of the matter, all in a tangled nest setup. I can't really think of any particular skills or artifacts that would be appropriate, though, that wouldn't just be in a wuxia setup already.... Maybe some sort of alchemical pill that greatly increases the user's strength, but at great cost to their sanity and potential, as well, so when the effect ends you actually end up drastically weaker than how you were before? It'd be a "last resort" item, similar to the attempted copies of the titular Immortal Devil Transformation pill that exists in its story?

Another wuxia game I've been playing that recently came out, Wandering Sword, actually reminds me a lot of IDT, especially the political machinations, while also being actually wuxia in nature, and it was from that game's community that I heard about your game having similar political strife that you can choose to embark upon or avoid, and also that it was getting released shortly to 1.0, so I was actually considering getting 大侠立志传:碧血丹心 because from trailers and discussion I've seen about it, it seems to take it further, going back to a true Hero's Journey from nothing to somebody, with trials and tribulations along the way that range from having to fight off bandits and being ambushed in your sleep to finding a place in the world that you can fit in according to your goals and skills- which can change from playthrough to playthrough, too. Very neat, and I hope I am considered for the giveaway, even though both my examples are xianxia!

If I could jump into the world of Hero's Adventure, I'd absolutely choose to be a wandering sword immortal. One man travelling the world with his sword, vanquishing demons and saving towns. Does it get anymore heroic than that? Always been a fan of the journey and worldbuilding of cultivation stories, hence the "wandering," and would absolutely love to explore a new world and get enraptured in all it has to offer.

drop your comment on the question down below: "If you or your favorite Wuxia novel character could step into the world of Hero's Adventure or any Wuxiaworld, who would they be, and what kind of quests, skills, or artifacts would best complement their Wuxia persona?"

Character - Ji Ning from Desolate Era, would be a young master from a renown family but a rather backwater area with extreme skill in swordsmanship

Quests:  Probably reaching the apex of swordsmanship and being acknowledged as the #1 sword expert in Jianghu

Skills:  Would be cool if he further developed Raindrop & Rainwater Sutra, and his skills in the game would be primarily based around these abilities, would be too OP if he had all his other auxiliary skills imo

Artifacts: Voidboat for fast travel!

My favorite character is Zu An as he is smart and cunning while many of the situations that happen around him are unrealistic, but funny. I'd be interested to see what kinds of quests could be added, but Zu An has many interesting artifacts and skills that may have a unique use in the game, such as a dagger that can kill anything it grazes or a flashlight that can only turn on with light, etc. His skills are also extremely unique so it would be amazing if he was added to the game.

I'm a big Reverend Insanity (Gu Daoist Master) fan. If Fang Yuan was ever added to a game, I think he'd likely have to be an antagonist to the main story to fit his character. I see this being post main story challenge content to prevent him in his path of fighting against heaven (and therefore against the world). This could be in the form of fighting against him for different strong and rare Gu (like Wisdom Gu) in a variety of quests, the rewards for success being different status buffs or something to that effect based on the type of Gu won over him in the quest.

Glad to see a new Wuxia themed game on steam! I think the genre has a lot of untapped potential in the game market and there aren't enough of them out there to quench my appetite, especially in english. I'll definitely be checking it out!

I really love Zhou Botong in The Legend of the Condor Heroes.
He has the care free characteristics and masterful martial art.

I think you can try giving him meet main characters by chance and teaches him some Fist skills via training by drawing circle and square at the same time. It is hard to do in game but you can make it like fighting square formation or circle formation to claim rewards.

reward should be something like Technique of Ambidexterity where he has increased damage when fighting exactly 2 opponents at the same time.

Thank you for creating this contest. I really hope to win one key to try it out.

really like Reverend Insanity, it would be cool to have the ability to conditionally go back in time with knowledge of the future and the enemy's weaknesses - especially since this is an open world game. to balance it out, it could require crafting ingredients that get more difficult the more times you do it, or the further back in time you want to go. though that is kind of the same thing as starting a new game or loading a save file, so it would need something a little extra added in - like greater proficiencies from your past life

for Meng Hao - it would be too powerful to give him a straightforward path to get the full 9 heavenly burger king sealing skills from the beginning, so maybe just something that lets him get less loot in exchange for guaranteed high quality loot once in a while since his bag of holding always has exactly what he needs even though he ignores 99% of his enemy's inventory. Then let him smash his enemies with the weight of his promissory notes
