  1. Well, if the debuff makes sense according the worldbuilding and cultivation system and, of course, logic, then I have no problems with debuffs at all. It can be interesting to see how even normally overpowered protagonists deal with setbacks and stuff. A good writer should definitely be able to pull this off. Obviously, I'm not refererring to rinse and repeat of some bullshit that an author might keep throwing at the MC senselessly to both nerf him constantly and also stretch the story for the word count. Things have to feel natural and realistic enough inside of the story and of course the protagonist shouldn't suddenly act out of character to acquire that debuff in the first place. So, yeah, when the MC suddenly acts like a fool and gets his ass poisened for no good reason, that's just bad. Really really bad. So bad I'd rant about it in the comments 😅 And if the author then keeps it up and links that shit up like a chain, I can only keep ranting and eventually leave a bad review for the bad novel it is or became. It's true that the amount of bullshit tends to increase the longer a novel gets, which is why some reviews actually tell you to stop reading when the MC leaves the first continent, world or plane of existence if you know what I mean.
  2. If the novel you remember also had a system, it should be Spirit Pet Creation Simulator.
  3. I'm not sure about the details, but there's precedence for Wuxiaworld partnering with an author directly and relatively recently too. Try checking the announcement for Hunter of Immortals from roughly 9 months ago, though there shouldn't be many details there. Anyway, I see no reason why Wuxiaworld shouldn't be interested at least. I know that I, a potential reader, certainly am, so I suggest using the official business contact. If you scroll down on the main website (not this forum), you find the "contact us" section (wuxiaworld.com/contact-us) with the official e-mail address for business inquiries. Good luck!
  4. I think the number of free chapters every 23 hours has increased for the novels that got winter themed covers or overlays, but I'm not sure since it didn't affect any of the novels that I'm currently reading. Edit: All of them have 4 free chapters, though.
  5. Wuxiaworld has many entertaining novels, but it is still lacking a new sepia colored theme.
  6. What a relief! Thank you very much for this giveaway and especially for raising the number of winners to 20. It was fun participating, so I'm really happy about this.
  7. I apologize to all characters, but I'd like my own choices, opinions and moral compass, so for this I'd step into such a world myself. Chances are high I'd start as a farmer in a small village, with a rusty sword inherited from my dad and some farm tools, of course. I'd feel the need to protect myself in such a world soon enough and absorb stories while trying to gain something out of them and my surroundings, slowly finding enlightenment on my own, but inspired by the nature and animals I work and live with. I wouldn't cultivate in a room, but outside on a corner of my field. I wouldn't create Tiger Claw arts, Dragon Fist arts etc. but arts inspired by the elements and for some humor indeed a few supposedly inferior and boring animals. My most fearsome move might end up being the Chicken's Beak or something. I'd fight unarmed or using a sword, but I'd also fight using farm tools in certain situations. My first quests wouldn't be unusual at all. Helping out the villagers, eventually help to hunt a dangerous creature in a forest or something that threatens my field, but this is also a story of me becoming the protagonist of my own story. I'd eventually have to stop bandits, go on trips and encounter lots of things and people, though I'd always return home where my life, my work and my inspirations to strengthen my martial arts would be. At first, at least. For the safety of the villagers, I might decide to leave and do my thing somewhere else. As a martial artist, I also couldn't afford to be stuck on a small field forever with only a few animals, it'd be like a bottleneck that shackles my progress. Artifacts are a bit more tricky, but I'd want them not to stand out too much, probably stuff that a humble but genius blacksmith or artisan that I'd come to know would create for me, though I also wouldn't shy away from other great things as long as using them wouldn't make me a target for literally everyone. All I know for sure is that I would definitely want my farm tools to be some kinds of artifacts too, even if only for the durability. After growing strong and wealthy enough, I might even found my own sect and look for likeminded and hardworking people, passing down not only martial arts, but also a love for for nature and respect for animals. If that's too long, I guess you can just roughly imagine Harvest Moon or Stardew Valley going wuxia 😅
