I attempted to ask Chat GPT about Energy Abilities being a thing just out of curiosity

Yeah as an avid Wuxia reader and anime fan I've always been curious if all our knowledge was put into 1 place would I be able to ask questions that normally stay in my head like this one. I will post my question and Chatgpt's response.  The response was quite intriguing to say the least but not what I wanted to hear unfortunately.

Question from me - there has been information about humans capable of manipulating energy and I find text about this all over the place. In China it is referred to as Chi, in Japan it is Ki, and in Korea it is Qi, it has also been called mana or internal energy, however I have not seen anyone in life capable of proving to this phenomenon. In your capacity, would you say humans have ever been able to see and manipulate energy or will they ever be able to in the future using things like meditation or visualization techniques?

Chat Ai Response -

The concepts of manipulating and harnessing "energy" like Chi, Ki, Qi, mana, or internal energy are often associated with various traditional and cultural practices, particularly in Eastern Asia. These practices, including Tai Chi, Qigong, and various forms of meditation, are rooted in ancient traditions and are believed to help individuals cultivate and balance their physical, mental, and spiritual well-being. However, these concepts are typically understood in a metaphysical or symbolic sense and are not scientifically proven to represent a tangible form of energy as defined in physics.

In the context of these practices, the concept of energy often refers to a holistic understanding of life force or vitality, which is not measurable or quantifiable by conventional scientific methods. It is important to recognize that these traditions are deeply rooted in their respective cultures and have been passed down through generations as a means of promoting health, relaxation, and mindfulness.

While these practices have many reported benefits for physical and mental health, they do not necessarily involve the manipulation of energy in the way that is commonly portrayed in fictional or supernatural contexts. Claims of people being able to see, manipulate, or control energy in a scientifically verifiable manner are generally not supported by empirical evidence.

In the future, it is possible that advances in our understanding of the mind-body connection and consciousness may shed light on the mechanisms behind these practices. However, it is important to approach these topics with a healthy degree of skepticism and rely on scientific research and evidence-based practices for health and well-being.

In summary, while practices like meditation and mindfulness can have significant benefits for individuals in terms of mental and physical health, the concept of manipulating energy in a supernatural or scientifically unverifiable way remains a matter of belief rather than established scientific fact.

I mean I think ChatGPT answered it very well. The question kinda felt like "So ghosts exist, has anyone seen  or interacted with a ghost before" and ChatGPT gave an answer that is, a bit of history/context, and that we should be very skeptical about these things since there are no scientific papers or at least any good multitudes of them. I guess if you wanted it more in a "What if" setting, you could emphasize that much more since ChatGPT is most likely processing that as "Dude's asking a question as to whether or not it's real and if someone has done it"

I made some changes to the question. Here is what I got.

There has been information about humans capable of manipulating energy and I find text about this all over the place. In China it is referred to as Chi, in Japan it is Ki, and in Korea it is Qi, it has also been called mana or internal energy. If we assume that this is real thing, how should I start practising it?

The concept of manipulating energy, often referred to as Chi, Ki, Qi, or mana, is deeply rooted in various traditional Asian cultures and is often associated with practices like Qigong, Tai Chi, and martial arts. While these practices are more about promoting physical and mental well-being, as well as self-defense, rather than explicitly manipulating a mystical energy force, many individuals believe in the existence of such energy.

If you are interested in exploring these practices, here are some general steps you can consider:

  1. Research and Understanding:

    • Read about the cultural and historical context of the practices you are interested in. Understanding the philosophy behind these practices is crucial.
  2. Find a Qualified Teacher:

    • Seek out a knowledgeable and experienced teacher who can guide you through the techniques. Look for instructors with a solid understanding of the philosophy and practical aspects of the art.
  3. Start with the Basics:

    • Begin with the basics of the chosen practice, whether it's Qigong, Tai Chi, or another related discipline. Focus on proper posture, breathing, and basic movements.
  4. Regular Practice:

    • Consistency is key. Regular practice is necessary to experience the benefits of these disciplines. Set aside time each day for your practice.
  5. Mind-Body Connection:

    • Pay attention to the mind-body connection. Many of these practices emphasize the integration of mental focus, breath control, and physical movement.
  6. Breathing Exercises:

    • Breath is often considered a crucial aspect of these practices. Explore different breathing exercises and learn how to coordinate your breath with your movements.
  7. Meditation:

    • Many of these practices incorporate meditation. Consider adding meditation sessions to your routine to enhance your focus and awareness.
  8. Respect the Cultural Context:

    • Be mindful and respectful of the cultural context from which these practices originated. It's not just about physical movements; it's about embracing a holistic approach to health and well-being.
  9. Patience and Persistence:

    • Progress may be slow, and experiences vary from person to person. Be patient and persistent in your practice.

Remember, the idea of manipulating energy is often deeply intertwined with cultural and philosophical beliefs. While there's limited scientific evidence to support the existence of a mystical energy force, the physical and mental benefits of these practices are well-documented. Approach these practices with an open mind, focusing on their potential to enhance your overall well-being.
