  1. Hi @NostalgiaCaptain! I am a fan of WuxiaWorld and post often on the forum. I am really glad you have approached WuxiaWorld and are writing your own work!! Congrats! It takes a lot of effort. As RainbowHare pointed out, the admins will be able to help you. Just one word - I would recommend very very carefully considering your terms before publishing on Webnovel. I have heard that they take the copyright of their authors and pay their authors very little. It is very bad for authors. You could also research other platforms, like Patreon and Ko-fi. You could also look for translators online, if you want to reach an English audience..... I really hope WuxiaWorld shall at least review your novels to decide if it is willing to publish. (Fingers crossed, @Jing S!)
  2. Also, I heard A Will Eternal by Er Gen has a harem - though I haven't read it. Also, ISSTH (I Shall Seal The Heavens) - has a lot of beauties in it, and they make constant appearances, though, it is not R-18+. For R-18+ novels, there is a clue in what I have said before....
  3. Second Coming of Gluttony (SCOG) You could also search on novelupdates for novels with the harem tag and from the group wuxiaworld. Spoilers ahead, not for the sensitive soul. Light: In Second Coming, there are harem-esque elements from the near beginning, though if you want more direct descriptions of s*x, that is in the extra chapters (lots of extra chapters). Heavy s***t: If you find novels from wuxiaworld that have a harem, never, NEVER, ever read Martial God Asura. The MC is a f****g r*pist.
  4. Gosh, I remember that about IDT. Though it got a bit jacked in the end. SLR - I think I shall try it again. Thanks for participating!
  5. For me: what makes a novel bad is any one of a number of factors: too overpowered MC or heroes too overpowered villains when s***t doesn't make sense, no consistency in story bad translation (thankfully, I I have not really seen that on WW) overuse of deux ex machina (basically plot armor) What would make a novel acceptable to me, is, if for its genre, it: avoids the bad points above makes a decent attempt of stringing together a band of characters, an environment, villains, a plot and sufficient padding (sub-plots) together What would make a novel great to me is: avoids the bad points far above has consistent, fleshed out characters, including supporting characters a villain with a story a hero with a story, who has to fight for what they believe is right weaving together the main characters and supporting characters, antagonists and supporting antagonists, in a well-developed or sensible environment, driven together by a major plot and enjoyable sub-plots. The sub-plots should be great on their own (arcs, or themes.
  6. What, in your taste, makes a novel great?
  7. Santa-sleds abound, Christmas is here, rejoice!
  8. "Well, well, well, what do we have here?"
  9. For those readers of Beyond the Timescape, what do you think of the Captian (Chen Erniu) for President? With his street smart and political prowess, I think he would make a great president, if he can keep his teeth in his mouth that is.

In Chapter 236 of The Nebula's Civilization, it was asked in the comments how damaged a house-sized mortar shell would be. For posterity, and easy reference, I have pulled out some of the calculations here. Mind you, it is all fairly rough (very). Considering that the dinosaurs were wiped out by an asteroid only the size of Mount Everest (check out Life on Our Planet), even a small object given enough speed can be lethal. So a house sized object, say, traveling at 2000 to 4500 km/h, with a mass of 100m by 100m by 100 m at 2000 kg per meter cubed would have the momentum of mass x velocity = 2x10^9 kg x 4500 km / h = 2.5 x 10^12 kg.m/s. I am going a bit further than I went in the comments section. Let D = 2.5 x 10^12 kg.m/s Random asides From wikipedia, the asteroid that killed the dinos had estimated energy of 300 zetajoules (3x10^23 joules). Note: that was enough to stuff up the planet for a long time. And the major impacts it had weren't just the initial blast, but the consequences (earthquakes, debris - like meteors (stuff from the ground that got blasted up and then went down again), pressure waves, extreme heat, asphyxiating clouds, climate change). How many cups of coffee could you make with that energy? That would be about 8 x 10^18 cups of coffee (about a billion of 8 billions), or enough coffee (water heating energy) for 10 million years for ALL coffee drinkers on the planet (everyday for 10 million years). Hmm. Let's say a good cup of coffee of 200 ml is heated from 15 deg C of water to 60 deg C. That's a 45 deg C change. Energy required = m*c*delta T = 0.2 kg * 4200 J/(kgK)*45K = 37.8 x 10^3 joules of energy. 300 zetajoules = 3 x 10^23 J How many cups of coffee could you make with 3 x 10^23 J ? = 3 x 10^23 J / 37.8 x 10^23 = 7 936 507 936 507 936 507.93... = 7.9 x 10^18 cups of coffee Let's just say 8 x 10^18 cups of coffee How many cups of coffee are drunk every day? "Based on the latest study, there are approximately 1 billion coffee drinkers worldwide and over 2 billion cups of coffee are consumed daily." https://earthweb.com/how-many-people-drink-coffee/ If we could have somehow harnessed the kinetic energy of the asteroid that killed the dinos, how many cups of coffee could it make? 8 x 10^18 cups of coffee How many people could that feed and for how long? 1 billion people 2 billions cups per day (2 x 10^9) 7.9...x10^18/2x10^9 = 3 968 253 968.253 = 3.96 x 10^9 days = 10 864 487.25 years ~= 10 million years D = 2.5 x 10^12 kg.m/s That is the momentum that would need to be absorbed. Not to useful to compare to the energy of the dino-killer. Let's get that to energy. m = pV = (1000 kg / m3) * (100 m by 100 m by 100 m) = 10^9 kg v = 4500 km/h = 1250 m/s E = 0.5mv^2 = 781.250 x 10^12 ~= 8 x 10^14 J which is about 1 billionth of the dino-killer. Knowing that the dino-killer killed off more than 75% of all life on the planet (land, sea and air), that's still crazy high. This would still be very devastating to a city I think, though in the context of fantasy novels, one can (may) expect shields, magic defenses, and that the math itself is not taken too seriously. The worlds under question could very well be said to operate according to different laws of physics than ours.
  11. Start with a goal each day... or not, just have a good time.
  12. Themes or dreams, a sepia-colored theme will be a really good start.
  13. Entertainment reminds me of Become a Star on Wuxiaworld.
  14. Hmm, so I summarized your coloring (just sorting in Excel): Bright green (definitely recommend): Sorta recommend: After removing these, and then selecting the remainder that I would have recommended: Which leaves three novels, which you had not rated: I think the results are clear (lol). Praise the Orc! is definitely one of my favorite novels. I would say, definitely give it a whirl. Become a Star, I actually completed. It is not an action-fighting novel, but is more slice-of-lifey. Fortunately, I Met You, was well-written, though I only read a few dozen chapters I think. I stopped as I got busy, and then later, it was a bit too psychological, so I did not continue reading.
  15. If you wanna chill and play Genshin, that we can do. Hit me up on a DM and perhaps we can chat!
  16. Sorry love, I am on the other side of the planet!
  17. I am so glad that the forum is back. 222222. Since I can't be the first here (obviously), shoutout to the F5 Sect! All Hail Lord Fifth!
  18. I read Chinese and Korean. I feel like I read more Chinese translations, though, that is because it feels that there are more Chinese translations on WW. In general, I think I have enjoyed Korean novels more - Etranger and Praise the Orc! are two of my all time favorites (you can see my favs on the Math love thread, I posted an Excel file with rankings). So that is why I gave my answer a 50/50.
  19. @FreedomDao Thanks for posting this topic. Good questions. To summarize: In my own words, my understanding of what you want: high quality no harem cultivation: takes you on the journey with them, so you also see the "Dao" with them cultivation system that makes sense proper plot Long answer: What novels have you read, so that I/we on this thread, may not recommend them? I have made a list of novels on WuxiaWorld, as of today, and posted it in the Math love thread (as it seemed to belong there, what, with recording and all). Short answer: These are my general Caution: The Nebula's Civilization (TNC) is still in serialization. I am a big fan of it; I am an editor for the fandom wiki. The Grandmaster Strategist - if you can get past the MC being a Gary Stu - too smart - really interesting novel. Good writing. I did not finish Etranger, per se. I read perhaps the first 50% and skipped to the end. The first 50% was mind-blowing, mind you. It just got a bit boring towards the middle. Really describes the power system well. Really, really good. Genius Detective - I dropped this novel unfortunately about, I dunno, 40/140 chapters in. It got too scary. The Second Coming of Gluttony - for power systems, awesome. Reason the rating is so low (still an S-class), is because of the side stories. Don't read them. The Charm of Soul Pets - read a few, dropped. Good as it was for the few chaps. I Have a Sword -ONLY, ONLY read the first 20 chapters or so, the first small arc. The humor was refreshing then. Fortunately, I Met You - didn't finish. Dropped. Psychological novel. Got a bit intense for me. But really well written. The Novel's Extra - Gary Stu main character, though, entertaining. Don't read the last 50 chapters or so. I didn't read the side stories. 1st Floor Boss - I dropped this for some reason, but it was quite interesting in the beginning. I might have dropped it because of time. Webnovel: For deep power systems. Supreme Magus on webnovel, I think is the best. Caution: I stopped reading after Chapter 2000 though, got too expensive. Unfortunately that's the thing on webnovel. The Way of Choices (webnovel) - excellent novel. Makes you think. The writing style was just awesome. But then it got canned - so stop reading about 50 chapters before the end. Hope this helps!! What are your thoughts?

List of novels on WuxiaWorld, as of 2023/12/05, ~17h00 UTC+0 Made manually from novelupdates and checking on WW. May have inaccuracies. I made this after a request on another thread for novel recommendations. I made a list of the novels, and then thought, how can I rank them? My personal preference on ranking is given. "Tiers" don't mean much - it was a stepping stone to the "Class" (Rank). WuxiaWorld Novel Rankings (2023-12-05).xlsx

WolframAlpha For those who don't know, https://www.wolframalpha.com/ is an amazing site. You can have it do quick calculations or (limited) visualizations to double-check your work. Also, there's a lot of cool other topics you can ask the engine about!

Hi all! This is a platform for all things math. Calculating stuff from novels. Talking about math. Loving math. Have fun!! Note: as WuxiaWorld is a platform for novels, I don't think it would be appropriate to specifically ask for advice for your school homework... you might raise it, and I think it would be appropriate for someone to re-direct you to another site. Let's see how this page goes and evolves, shall we?
