Agree with Will Eternal, Bai is written so well that how could we not fall in love with him at first read. NSHbA has become long in the tooth and really should end soon but Long Chen is an entertaining MC that has staying power for many. Beyond the Timescape at this moment is running to be my favourite read. Oh Captain our captain, what would we or our sweet boy MC do without him and his antics. As a personal favourite I will add A record of a mortals journey to immortality. The MC is mostly so forgettable and plain that he is outstanding. The series is a slow crawl and that is what attraced me to it. He falls down so often but has the fortitude to dust himself off and start all over again.

Mistakes are meant to be a learning curve.

The translator brings that to us with their choice of diction. I also watch a lot of Donghua, so when I have to filter the translations from trying to figure out what it actually means, it leaves a bitter aftertaste that lessens the viewing pleasure. Reading for me is a pleasure and I do not want anything to lessen the experience.

Ok so thought I would give this so called Season 2 of BTTH the live drama series a try. All I can say is why do I do these things to myself and then resent it all after. Lack of a budget is a deciding factor, along with the actors who are still green around the gills. It also is not a continuation from season 1 but a sort of restart from a different point of time in the novel. Leaving the viewers from season 1 with a hate on for this. Season 1 ended on a cliff hanger which was never a part of being resolved in Season 2. Ah well, live and learn yet again, time to go and wash my mind out with a couple of chapters from the novel to take away the bad taste.

A down to earth character that is sympathetic and hard working. He had to scrape his way to the top of the cultivation world starting from literally nothing. Relapsed more than once, hurt more often than not. left behind easily. Makes you the reader want to cheer for him from the beginning and support him any which way we could. Well worth the read so far. Good story telling overall.

A good novel for me is one that leaves me tingling with excitement and bated breath for the next chapter to drop. for me it is just that simple. Wow me and I am yours for the reading. *********************************************************************************************************************** A bad novel for me is one that incoherent and rambling. A novel needs to make the kind of sense that the reader can understand. What annoys is when the author try to pull fast ones with far fetched explanations and vague meanings with no tie ins to the plot or characters. Ramblings that do nothing but regurgitate the same information or conversations over and over again to fill up pages. Word count does not a good story make. You know how bad it truly is when you can skim a page and sum it up in one sentence. Characters that appear and then go way of the dodo bird to never be seen or heard from again and leave us scratching our poor heads trying to figure out how they tied into the whole thing in the first place. Rinse and repeat sub plots that leave you asking why the novel did not end 1000 chapters ago. I am sure I have other points to make and whine about but these came to mind without a second think.
