This is another novel by Wang Yu, whose other novels on site, "A Record of a Mortal's Journey to Immortality" & "A Record of a Mortal's Journey to Immortality - Immortal World Arc" are both successful, this shows that their is interest in his works.

I have only read the Manhua but I greatly enjoyed the story, it follows the common format. A boy from a low background with a talent that people consider trash but has a potential waiting to be uncovered. 
After some hardship which he overcomes with hard work and perseverance has an opportunity to go sect but ends up getting captured by a demonic sect and taken there to train. The adventure continues from there.

The characters, worldbuilding, and story are great.

I do hope this is one you choose to pick up.
