  1. Adore effervescence, that bubbly feeling of being alive, for life is too evanescent to mope around.
  2. I cannot understand why authors would agree to license their novels to webnovel. They must be unaware of their reputation. Wuxiaworld is well-known for its stellar translation quality while webnovel... Well, they are not. If a "translator" garbled my work that badly, I would consider it defamation. Even GPT is better at translating than the majority of webnovel translators. Of course, there are or at least were a few good ones. What a shame.
  3. I dropped the novel after hundreds of chapters because I did not like how the tone shifted from slice of life and strategy to... more aggressive strategy. It is also harem. That aside, there are 500+ chapters of solid slice of life, so I can still recommend it.
  4. Thank you for the book recommendation. I tried the first chapter and it's easy to read. You can tell the author has experience.
  5. It's a common problem that authors do not know how to end it. Additionally, I agree with Shinigami_Black that his prejudice is grating. I dropped it.
  6. Hello, I cannot access the Facebook. Could you tell me the authors Chinese name or send me the amazon in a private message?
  7. I liked 1st floor boss in the beginning, but the quality dropped around Ch 150. I am thinking of giving it another try. Did it pick up again?
  8. yes, that and paying $5 to avoid a cliff are the intended uses. higher tiers are much more useful. you can subscribe a month, read a bulk batch, then wait a few months before subscribing again to read another batch. if I were in your position, I would be disappointed as well, but I can only recommend inspecting the product carefully before purchasing: it clearly states what you will receive.
  9. Life, however, can only be enjoyed by the living.
  10. 从精神病院走出的强者 (The Powerhouse Who Walked Out Of The Asylum) It's on Qidian and the protagonist is truly... unique. Read at your own peril. The power was too strong for my fickle mind, so I only read three hundred odd chapters. Category is modern cultivation with a batshit protagonist.
  11. Haha, the title is incredible. Haven't read it since I stick to Qidian, but the description sounds great. I read another psychiatric hospital novel before, so this would be right up my alley. Support +1
  12. ISSTH clear winner and I agree with your list. Aside from those already mentioned, My Senior Brother Too Steady had a few funny ones.
  13. I agree that they should make sense. But that is only the basic requirement. Even with regular debuffs, they should be unpredictable and not the only means of story development. If I can predict the arrival of a new debuff and the way it will be solved - by gaining yet another powerful thingamajig, it is simply frustrating. As for the final part of your comment, I completely agree. Nowadays, I always try to read a few reviews by people who are caught up with a novel before I decide to give it a try. Relying simply on the average rating to select novels is notoriously unreliable as most reviews seem to be from people who read less than 100 chapters. Too many promising novels turn to waste in the later chapters.
  14. I get that it is difficult to maintain tension in a story where the main character is overpowered, but some author's have shown us that it is possible. Unfortunately, a lot of author's would rather resort to constantly debuff the character. That miracle drug MC found 28 chapters ago is suddenly causing a problem? Sure. MC is dealing with yet another inner demon and must seal his cultivation? Why not. MC got some mysterious wound from an entity he killed in one chapter that forces him to seal a part of his powers? Ok. The power MC recently leveled is too powerful and MC loses control, so MC needs to temporarily stop using it? ... For those books, the pattern is too predictable: debuff, resolve through upgrade, new debuff, repeat. As the word count increases, the reasons only grow more and more ridiculous. Poisoned by some pretty girl, MC makes the reader wonder if author also applied an intelligence debuff. I hate this sort of pattern. Anyone else?
  15. I Shall Seal The Heavens (here) also includes some alchemy as does History's Number One Founder (Official English on webnovel). If you do not mind reading Chinese, here are a few more recommendations, but I did not check if they are officially translated yet. 超级炼丹记 (Ultra Alchemy Record) is a classical xianxia (immortal cultivation) style novel and a real treat. VR game player from the future ends up in a world of cultivation... with the OP body of their game character! 炼金狂潮 (Alchemy Craze) is a comedic Xuanhuan Harem Alchemy novel about a silly alchemist. 绝世药神 (Peerless Medicine God) is yet another Harem novel. This one is less comedic and features many worlds. It's eastern xuanhuan. 百炼成仙 (Ascending Through a Lot of Refining) is a Harem again. Some parts are a bit watery, but it certainly features a lot of alchemy. Since the genre is cultivation fantasy, it should be to your tastes. 异界药神 (Medicine God in Another World) is a typical rebirth. Greatest pill refiner ever gets reborn in a primitive world. Wuxia, and I do not remember if it is harem or not, but I rated it 4/5. 异世药王 (King of Remedies in Another World) got a video game theme. This is xuanhuan so not the typical cultivation flair, but good alchemy content. He is a max level alchemist player who ends up in the body of a character that's supposed to die young. You can guess the rest. 魔天记 (Records of Māra-deva) is a cultivation fantasy set in a vast cosmos where humans live side by side with demons. And it is quite good. I might even recommend it for translation if there is none. If you know what kind of demon Māra is, you know what to expect. This is a harem novel. But it is better than anything else on this list. There are many secrets hidden here. Our protagonist was a desperate prisoner in a mysterious prison, but he was "freed" and joined a sect. There he hides his identity while doing his best to preserve his fragile sanity... 丹道宗师 (Medicine Sect Master) is a xuanhuan novel. MC went ten thousand years back in time and uses his superb alchemy skills to crush his enemies. I never finished it because it has too many chapters and ends up watery, but it's a good time filler.
  16. It is a big disappointment to us web readers that Yonder has lock its content away. Can only hope they open their content in the future since this is another great story that deserves read
  17. Sect leaders beware that if your illegitimate son seems to be facing a world of adversity and disdain, it is better to be the neglectful protector than the cruel father.
  18. Ended or not, this affair no longer concerns me, and I fear it will never come to an end.
  19. Read all of those. But I am interested in recommendations of people who read praise the orc.
  20. Bul'tar brothers! I have been reading "Praise the orc" and it is true warriors done right. Not pushover but true spirit! Any recommendations?
  21. That sounds like an interesting topic of research. Webnovels are a great way to export culture to a great many people all over the world. From what I have seen, most readers learn a lot from novels. Unfortunately, I am not from the United States, but I wish you good luck!
  22. Is it possible the author chose random English words just so the initials spell out PTSD? The description certainly invokes a sense of danger and war.
  23. I tried again just now and it is still the same issue. This is my usual login flow: - Sign in on wuxiaworld.com with credentials - Click on Forum - Click on Sign in and get auto-signed in Thank you for the assist
