How to bookmark a series

I am using the website after several months of pause, and I do not see any "button" on series pages that would make a bookmark

Bookmarks are logged automatically upon reading chapters; it's not possible to manually bookmark a series itself.

On the website you can also use this Favorite button found at the end of each chapter. Clicking that adds the specific chapter to the favorite tab on the Bookmarks page (https://www.wuxiaworld.com/manage/bookmarks).
