Novel Devourer!

I love novels. My favorite authors are Brandon Sanderson, Patrick Rothfuss, Jim Butcher, David Gemmell, Guy Gavriel Kay, Anthony Ryan, among many others. Currently, my number 1 favorite is The Stormlight Archive Series by Brand Sanderson. Also, my love for chinese novels is just something I discovered recently as I was frustrated reading a manhua that could've been good if it weren't for the translator messing things up. That frustration led me to its WN version. After stumbling upon this world of Web Novels, I searched reddit for more recommendations and I found out about IET's Work and a ton of other Xianxias, a genre I've come to love. As for JP LNs... Welp. I don't like them. I've tried reading Mushuko Tensei, but I found the MC to be unlikable. He's submissive and indecisive for the most part of the series, and I don't like that trait in a protagonist. I tried looking at other JP works, but most of them have similar MCs, weak-willed and physically thin as a stick, which is not my idea of manliness. Not to mention, most of their authors love writing VRMO plots. The thing I hate about the VRMO plots is that I'm already reading fantasy, so why bother indulging myself into something in the lines of a fantasy in a fantasy? What's worst, the overpowered MCs in that Virtual Reality Game are weak nerds in real life, who're afraid to stand up to bullies. I don't mind nerds, even if they get their ass kicked, as long as they have dignity and stand up to the bullies. Anyway, you can say I'm biased, but that's my opinion on why I hate Japanese LNs. I know there are some that have badass, downright ruthless MCs, but that's just an extreme minority, so no thanks. And, if you say I should finish reading mushoku tensei before juding it, I've already read up to book 20+ and it's mehhhh. I get the feeling of just reading it cause I've got nothing better to do, which says a lot as to how uninteresting it is for me.
