Looking for recommendations

Hello,

I was wondering if any of you guys could recommend me some good novel to read. I was reading Tales of Demons and Gods but since it's on hold I need something else (I didn't finish reading it but only for few chapters, why should I bother if I know I will want more once I finish all chapters). So far I'm reading Start Martial Technique, I know it's from the same author but it's very interesting and it has a manga as well which I'm reading. The bad thing is that I need to read it from an automated translation, which is horrible and boring.

I don't really like childish novels where the main character is stupid, a virgin kid the entire novel and doesn't understand anything about girls. I know some novels are for "kids" but come on, all characters with 15-18 years old are super stupid! Kids these days with 13-14 years old are fapping the hell out of them each day but in the novels are very stupid and they never understand anything.

I want something with combats, super powers and romance. At least, TGD and SMT are quite decent with that but the characters there are stupid as I said before. Even when in TGD the main character lived more than 100 years, he can't understand when a girl is sending a direct message. At least for me, that's quite annoying, even more, if the character lived more than 100 years.

Not sure how the other novels are but after reading these ones I started to like quite a lot the martial arts stuff. If I understand well, it's xianxia, right? But that's only for Chinese novels?

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

By the way, I want to start a novel with no bullshit and no stupid characters. Yes, I'm 100% amateur but I like it so that's the idea now. I could promote or post the novel here when it's ready? Or what are my choices? Maybe you know some websites where I can promote my novel. I have a job and some other projects as well so writing it's kind of a hobby but I would love to make money so I can quit some other things and have more time for writing. What should I do?
Trying to publish it? Promoting on social media and accepting donations? Starting a blog?

Maybe someone could say that if I don't know what I'm doing I shouldn't be doing it but you can't buy experience, the only way to gain experience is doing it. Besides, without dreams, we have nothing, right? If you have any tip or knowledge about starting a novel please share it with me, it will be very helpful.

So far I have been doing some research and start writing the basics like the rules of the universe, the main plot, the terrain, the culture, some techniques, etc. I have in mind some characters but I want to finish the basics first before doing anything else. If you have experience writing novels it would be awesome to know exactly what you do before starting.

Take in mind that English isn't my main language so if you find some grammar issues you know why. I will be writing in my main language and then I will translate the novel at the same time but I will hire someone to proofread everything to ensure the quality. I have a good level but it's perfect and I'm sure that I make mistakes.

With that being said, thanks a lot for your time!

  • I'm pretty sure you will like my novel then ^.^ You can read it either here on wuxiaworld forums, or on royalroadl if their page is more comfortable to read from for you.

As for publishing your own stuff, just post it online to begin with. Then create things like paypal and patreon so people can support you; at least that's what I'm trying to do ;)
If you'd like more chapters of ISSI or Tales send me a note on patreon!
  • Ok, I'll go with the online mode and see what happens. In the future, I'll create a blog because I really like it.

I'm having quite a hard time picking up last names for my characters. Since most of my universe is based on Japanese and Chinese mythology I feel like adding Japanese last names with a good meaning. Each family or clan have a different symbol but the online translators like Google are not good.
  • Try Overlord, just find it on novelupdates and start reading, its a JP novel focused on VRMMO kinda like SAO but its much better with dark and comedic moments mixed in. Really good novel imo and worth a read
  • Try reading martial god asura for chinese novel,
  • Note its extremely good

  • Ni Lie isn't stupid about a girl's feelings. He just focuses on the one girl that he loved in his previous life and avoids the other girls.
  • you could try Warlock of the Magus World.
It does not really concentrate on relationships but on the main protagonist leveling up and getting stronger.
The story is about a scientist that died in his world and his soul was re-incarnated into another body of another world. In the world the scientist came from though they had perfected a neural interface chip which you can think of as a extremely powerful computer implanted into the brain of the user and it managed to merge with the scientists soul when he was re-incarnated. As for the character of the main protagonist he does not really have any morals he is all about increasing his strength and living the life he wishes to live in most books he would be considered the bad guy.
  • I agree on the Warlock of the Magus World. The MC is cunning and there are 18+ moments too.
You can also try Emperor Domination, the MC is all knowing and has million of years of experience. Also very choosy in his maids LOL
