[Suggestion] Bookmark System and Clock

Well not like I am some IT crack and I honestly have very little knowledge about website coding.

But is it possible to have 2 things in the future?
1. Some sort of bookmark system like extra page where you can bookmark the chapter you are currently reading at the main side? I often read in a way where I stockpile chapters of some novels and fuck had I problems when I forgot the chapter I stopped before. Well even if we do not get it we just have to somehow remember ourselves but if it would be possible and without a fuckton of time you would need to invest I would so vote for it ^^.
2. A clock on the site itself so you know in what relationship the time all the posts and whatnot are in comparison to your own timezone without having to do your own equations ^^.

Are these ideas any good? ^^

Is there any official standpoint for these 2 now?

I mean look at the thing with the clock.
Readers and translators are from all over the world, so everyone has different timezone.
If we had a clock on WW we could all just refer to the WW time.
I personally have some problems if translators say things like in the morning or whatever since I mostly have no clue where every single one of them lives and by god I most definitely am not going to learn their respective time zones.
There is literally no downside to it but everyone has a clear time one can refer to.

And the bookmark system is really needed.
    We have:
    7 completed
    32 ongoing Chinese and
    6 ongoing Korean novels
for a grand total of 45 different ones (38 if we assume you finish the completed ones right away before you start anything else)
So I either have to bookmark every single chapter I read, use another site like novelupdates, use a word file or whatever or simply remember every single one. It is just how do i say it right? A hassle probably.
I do not even demand some super fancy all in one hyperlink interconnected system.
Even a txt file implemented somewhere on the side we could always access no matter where we are would do the job by providing a notepad.

So is something like this planned?
Did you guys never consider it?
Did you have an idea like this but scrapped it?

  • Clocks on site are big no no. It will encourage more of those F5 spammers.
  • Until they decide to add the bookmark system, you could use novelupdates.com to track your progress.
The clock on site would be nice.

Well the clock alone would not help f5ers if the translators do not set any concrete times it would just be a nice gimmick. (And well not like they make any problems for the Server atm anyway.)

Well I know bout novelupdates but still the integrated bookmarks would be luxurious lol.
  • I really wish there was a bookmarking system......... It would make keeping track so much easier. I will try novel updates but a on site system would be great. A system like the one on mangatown would be perfect.
  • Bookmarking system is a pretty good idea.
  • this site really needs a bookmarking system it was fine before but now there are to many stories releasing updates when ever making it hard to keep track of which chapter you were on and for slow releases like upgrade specialist you can miss the update entirely and not notice until the next release assuming you don't miss that one aswell

  • I would suggest to allow timezone settings for regular wp users.
  • i vote yes on bookmarks. this way i won't lose my spots where i started to stockpile chapters.
  • Question at this point is if the ones responsible for the decisions
    a) read this and are just ignoring it
    b) read this and are not sure how to respond
    c) simply did not read this

Also a sticky master thread like the rules thread where every suggestion that has been made is listed with an answer to it would be kinda nice so we do not have to weed trough all the sides and can compare it in a thread with short answers to it ^^.
  • A redessign of the whole site is already in the works. Currently in the initial phase, but it can be said to have started. Until then there will be no such features being added to Wordpress, because it's not worth it.

About the answers for all the suggestions, there are some of them that may end up being read but not answered due to many reasons. We (or I try, since it's mostly me who's reading them) give priority to technical issues. Suggestions and the like are appreciated, and we try to have most of them answered, but there are some we may miss or will get buried.

Sorry for not answering the thread faster.
