If your translation is good enough (and you show enough consistency and quality, usually at least for 1-2 months or 40-60 chapters), you might be 'promoted' to the front page of the website proper at www.wuxiaworld.com

Xian Ni is at chapter 36 right now. 4 more chapters to make the requirement.
Beside those 2, Conquest i(57 chapters) and World of Cultivation (101 chapters) would be good additions.

If I translate something from qidian, what are the chances qidian international will snatch it up before or after it gets promoted with wuxiaworld? I wanted to translated Overgod Ascension (主神崛起) but with the launch of qidian international, the entire community has become unstable.

They will certainly contact you if the novel you picked up is popular enough to the point that they want it on their site, but you don't need to worry too much as qidian has too many novels and not enough translators, no matter what them preventing people from translating their novels is impossible.
Also so having people translate qidian novels even if it is not on Qidian International is sort of an advertisement...
also I heard from an editor on gravity that qidian would not try to take a novel that has had 100 chapters tl'ed as they wouldn't be able to start from c1 as it wouldn't be beneficial, as can be seen with transcending the nine heavens, where they contracted a group to tl, but because they couldn't get the permission to host the already tl'ed chapters on their site they could only go from 295 onwards...
for the next year or so translators will not have too many issues unless the novel is very popular to the point that, they had a tl already working on it...
(Btw not affiliated with any groups but have been around on novelupdates forums and seen translators posting stuff that they have been contacted but they weren't forced to do anything, unless the novel is very very popular like the the kings avatar that gt had to allow to be hosted on Qidian International as well due to its overwhelming popularity in the west and china...)
So to the point go for it, and don't worry too much about it...

Not really but you can contact them on forum.novelupdates.com there is a pr guy from qidian. An alternative is to contact them on Reddit and ask whether they would tl it
It's better to translate something else. I haven't posted my translation because of the Qidian International storm going on right now, as expected. Try something from 17k or another site. Qidian likes to monopolize.
@RWX so hypothetically speaking, if someone was to release 40 chapters in a span of a week and you liked the project enough, would it still be considered for promotion? And knowing the site now has A Korean section, what are the requirements for a Korean novel to get picked up?
