  • What level cultivation is Mang Qi (the beast in the endless catacombs)?

Does JC ever get him out of there?
  • edited December 2017
Mang Qi is a small celestial, which means his level is somewhere between level 1-3 celestial.

JC gets him out along with a lot of the other others sealed in there, but they never do anything, in fact after they get freed, it's like the author forgets about them altogether.
  • Thanks

Dang. Though a typical foible of the genre.

  • please anyone suggest any good novels which are atleast completed in raw and decent translation speed
  • How does JC deal with the Majestic Clan and House Tong?

How does JC deal with the Majestic Clan and House Tong?
House Tong is just a minor dog in the fight, but Majestic Clan takes several plot arcs to beat down.

First off, the current pill fight.

JC loses the first round of pill comparison because of the Longevity Pill, aces the second round of knowledge and skill comparison with the pill king. Things go to third round in which they must refine the pills they showed off in the first round, and Majestic's pill king can't refine Longevity Pill so they lose. JC now owns the house. He super impresses the judges and one of them even wants to become his disciple while others ask him to host public lectures on Pill Dao.

Next arc, he rents an out of city patch of land from Coiling Dragon Clan to let Long Xiaoxuan breakthrough in peace.

First he gets even more friendly with Coiling Dragon clan and uses a one-time technique to extend their leader's lifespan by 3 to 5 years. Still doesn't reveal the pinecones and puts off the super-pill. Gets invited to the competition in the city's big towers. During the trip he runs into some goons causing trouble that are connected to Murong Clan, one of other great clans in the city - they are allies of Majestic Clan. Ji San comes to help, there's fighting and so on, they win, pretty basic stuff. Xiaoxuan gets his breakthrough.

After he returns, he finds new problems from Majestic Clan brewing.

They have faked an accident of Tayian Tower selling fake pills and poisoning people, that got personal guards of one of the Great Emperors to arrest Regal Pill Palace disciples he had working in there. JC immediately figures out that the business is shady and asks Coiling Dragon to contact their patron Great Emperor - Peacock. Although neither of GEs get personally involved, JC sells the Longevity Pill recipe to his group of pill kings, they use it to accuse Majestic Clan of stealing the recipe and arrest them. Peacock's group spins an even bigger story than the poisoning, hang up accusations of betraying the  Veluriyam Capital to outside influences for it, while investigation into poisoning pretty much falls flat. So in the end, JC's group is released, Wang Teng and his father are executed and overall Majestic Clan is screwed up from its attempts at gaining superiority with the sales. Peacock's group starts selling the pill, gives JC big share of the profit.

After that, plot goes on to other things, Majestic Clan is not exterminated, but is suppressed pretty hard.

  • House Tong is to minor, they fade out without even making a slight ripple.

Short story for the Majestic clan would be, Jiang Chen has people kill Asura Great Emperor. They conflict a few times, it's always very boring so called "schemes" which eventually lead to a competition that Jiang Chen wins and Asura and his people have to leave.

House Tong is just a minor dog, they're irrelevant.

Majestic Clan's schemes take up two plot arcs. Current one with the pill competition:

Jiang Chen loses first round of pill exhibition because they have Longevity Pill, then proceeds to shock the judges with his insanely high skills in round 2. Round 3 is refining the pills they shown off in round 1, so Majestic Clan fails.

After that, there's an arc dealing with other business with JC out of town, and he comes back to find more trouble.

Majestic Clan has staged an accident with Tayian Tower's medicines being harmful and had forces of their backer, Asura Great Emperor arrest Regal Pill Palace disciples and House Wei. JC goes to Great Emperor Peacock, backer of Coiling Dragon Clan, and gives his group of pill kings the recipe for Longevity Pill - they stage a case that Majestic Clan stole the pill recipe from them. This allows them to draw time for proper investigation into the case against RPP pills, and present a counter-offensive too (because of 'stealing' the pill and cooperating with outside forces). RPP and Wei family are released, but Wang Teng and his father are executed.

So in the end, Majestic Clan gets beaten down hard, and can't cause problems by itself anymore really - JC's further dealings would only be with their higher-up Great Emperor backer.
  • Thank you for answering :)
  • what will happen with the competition for the logevity pill?
  • JC wins, shocks everyone doing so, the typical outcome.
  • If you want more details, then:

He sets up three rounds - first is refining the pill. Setting up to use a standard cauldron rather than best equipment to even out, JC produces a batch of three Superior ranks and three upper ranks. Opponent manages just one upper, three medium and one low-rank. Crushing victory.
For rounds two and three he sets the challenge to refine the pill using different materials. JC himself doesn't bother to actually do it - it's just a taunt, he says that if Pillfire City's guy can do it, he wins. But obviously, he can't.

  • What's the deal with the danfe chick? They had sex and she ran away...
  • edited February 9
She did not want to burden Jiang Chen because she knew he was talented and would go pretty far in his life, thus when she discovered she was pregnant, she bailed without telling him so he wouldn't be burdened by becoming a dad, especially considering it wasn't his will in the first place to sleep with her.

It's a pretty bland and dumb plotline overall, including the conclusion of it.

Yeah I hate harems, just something that you know is wrong. It felt like the author wanted to add one in, but thought better of it. At least the focus of the story isn't driven by Romance...
  • when did MC get the 4 divine beast the turtle?
  • He gets the turtle late in Myriad Abyss Island arc.
  • This chapter man.

“Haha, it’s not just pure hope that he can break twenty quarter-hours but rather, it’s a fact that he will.” Emperor Peafowl smiled blithely. “What this emperor is curious about now is, will he able to surpass six hours?”

Don't you mean twenty-four quarter-hours?  Or is that going too far?
Absolute Choice is the first novel that I've read on Wuxiaworld that I genuinely do not like.

The big milestone is four hours - 16 quarters.
Chu Jianhuan stayed for 4 hours and a quarter - 17 quarters.
Sunyu Xiaosheng surpassed him by 3 quarters - 20 quarters, five hours.
So now they were certain JC will beat him again and wondering if JC will manage six hours, which would be 24 quarters, but it isn't phrased through that way in the text.
  • I was trying to be sarcastic.  The point is it's ridiculous to use quarter-hours to begin with.  You don't say 24 months, you say 2 years.  Also, you need to be consistent.  If you're using quarter-hours, use quarter-hours throughout all of the text.  If you're using hours, use hours throughout all of the text.

Ahh, text tone deafness strikes again.

And it's even worse in original, as far as I can judge by the machine translation.
They aren't using hours and quarters, they're using double-hours. And quarters.

Was extremely hilarious in ch 925.
    It went like
    现在,唯一的疑问就是,甄丹王能否打破近几千年来没有人打破的记录?
Insists over three double-hour in inside?
    在里边坚持超过三个时辰?
Three double-hour, are equal to 24 quarters.
Second sentence just got cut down outright by translation.

Amen, metric system for everyone on this planet or GTFO!
  • Will peafowl/peacock great emperor hit celestial realm?
  • Yes, when he finally shows up again, I think he's at the 6th level of the celestial realm, which at that point is worthless.
  • What chapter does he finally appears again?
  • Yes, when he finally shows up again, I think he's at the 6th level of the celestial realm, which at that point is worthless.
    Hah, as expected.
What level will JC himself be at that time?

Halfstep next tier, full-on into it or even higher?

The tower is the location of the Colored Glass Palace, which was the number 1 ranked human sect in the ancient era. By clearing all 6 trials of the tower, one becomes the new Palace Master, inheriting the entire sect, which includes, tons of skills, treasures, and resources. The palace itself is also rich in spiritual power, making it a great place to cultivate, in fact, it's the best place to cultivate compared to anywhere else in the human territory and myriad abyss island.

At the same time, the 6 ancient masters that oversee each trial, would become his subordinates for awhile, especially the finally guy, who was the strongest out of all 6 of them. He was a top member of the sect in the ancient era, and he's at the 6th lvl of the Divine stage. He has to obey all of JC's orders since JC is the new sect master. Which he's totally cool with, because he's super loyal to Senior Colored Glass and the Palace.

JC cultivation lvl is at the 9th lvl of the Celestial stage when he clears the final trial. He breaks threw to the Divine Stage inside the palace right after. This happens like chapter 2100+
