the first sort of bending of the bloodline is when breaks into the rank 5 which he did by studying the blood of a special spiecies i think it had something to do with stars and then was able to break to rank 5
    for the overall shackles he
went to purgatory because when the mother of snakes learned of his existence she nearly killed him because he rebelled and when in the purgatory he caused her and two other rank 8 into a three way battle and he was just watching from the sidelines (sneering) as they didnt put him in their eyes until he summoned the spirit of purgatory (rank 9) and told it that they were destroying its lands and asked for power to punish them and temporarily became rank 9 and defeated all three and took her blood and freed himself and became a new species of snake and its father and called the species the black winged god snake and all of the snakes from his former bloodline became his children allowing them to only reach rank 5 and no more (basically putting new shackles only allowing them to be slightly stronger
in my opinion that was the best arc of the entire novel as you see him... it was around chapter 700

    Rank 8 - around 1165

    Rank 7 - ~1040(clone becomes true god around 1120)

    Rank 6(half rank 7) - around 760

    Rank 5 - around 625
Yikes that gap between 6 and 7. Also such a small time being rank 8 and 9... only 35 chapters total, that's lame. Thanks for the info!
    Rank 5: 620
    Rank 6: 761
    Rank 7: 1043-1044
    Rank 8: 1166
    Rank 9: 1203 (Final Chapter)
that shoud awnser your questions. credit obviously go to their contributors

Okay... In the next ten or twenty chapters:
Leylin fights off a Dark Mage invasion rather easily, and starts to optimize the defenses and harvesting of his location. All his subordinates are super impressed and have genuine hope that they will be able to complete their missions and return safely thanks to Leylin's leadership and protection. Some time goes by, Leylin stops another invasion with minimal effort, capturing the Dark Mage in the process and throws her in with a few other prisoners he's captured. The transport team arrives to pick up his shipment of flowers and his prisoners, then fly off. As they fly away, the caravan is attacked by a Dark Mage who kills the transport team easily.

The Dark Mage takes the flowers and the prisoners (who note they'd rather be prisoners of the Light Mages than rescued by an unknown Dark Mage) and hands them off to a colleague. Turns out this is Leylin and Giant working together to maximize profits. Giant is also using his influence to make things easy on Leylin's protection job, only sending Dark Mages that are weak, have caused trouble for higher ups, or have no real backing/support to his area for the raids. Leylin gets a cut of the materials and wealth from the Mage slaves, AND he gets "contribution points" from the Light Mages, so he's doing really well for himself.

Then he gets recalled back to the main base, where he spends all his points, and the points of a guy who was vaguely rude to him when he first arrived, for materials. He's already thinking that he's going to have to leave the Light Mage organization, so he doesn't mind annoying some people on his way out. They are putting him into a direct hunting/combat unit. He protests again, in a superficial way, and then goes to meet his team. They try to bully him thinking he's just a potion master and he beats the shit out of anyone who tries until the leader of the combat unit arrives. It's implied that the combat unit leader is the one causing trouble for Leylin, but he's a peak Rank 1 Magus so Leylin does some posturing and backs down from the fight while trying to figure out how to win. AI chip gives him a 89% chance of mutual death. Caesar(?) sends him to hunt in the territory of his old school, thinking it will be difficult for him... but Leylin mentally lists off the people he'd slightly hesitate to kill that are still there, and it's all of like two or three people.

Stopped reading a bit after this, but he goes to settle things with the Lilytells while on his combat mission. He sees... Nyssa/Neela, the girl who was mutated by her professor that he was vaguely acquainted with, she's having trouble with a Lilytell stealing shit from her and basically forcing her to go back and risk her life to get the material... and then threatening to kill her if she doesn't strike him (he has supporters there and the backing of his family, so obviously she can't or she'll be killed). Leylin shows up, causes a ruckus and gets the Lilytell grandfather whose clone he fought earlier to arrive in the flesh. He doesn't kill the elder, but he does manage to get the guy to reveal most of his trump cards, while revealing nearly none of his own, so Leylin figures that if they fight again, he can pull a win. The mutant girl kills the Lilytell bully-kid in the middle of the chaos and robs his corpse.

As this is all going on, Jenna's family is trying to save her life and failing. We learn a little about her family, their importance in the Light Mage society, and Jenna's high level meditation technique. They basically keep coming back to the same point, which is that they need the mage who cast the curse to fix it.

  • Any chance on more spoilers regarding how it goes for Jenna and her family? Also what curse did Leylin use on her?

He used a curse developed by Grand Magus Serholm which he upgraded to make it nearly uncurable. Jenna's family try to hire a curse specialist to cure it but he fails and ends up cursed instead. This guy then goes behind the family and strikes a deal with Leylin, he gets cured in exchange for info on Jenna's family. Then one of her family members, an old arrogant lady, tries to force Leylin to cure her by using a special medallion that grants 1 favor from Four Seasons Garden. However, by that point Leylin has pretty high status in 4SG and just ignores it and revokes the favor. Then he strikes a deal with her saying he'll cure Jenna in exchange for their high grade meditation technique. However, Leylin's found a way to revoke Trial's Eye contacts so later when he gets promoted to rank 2 he obliterates their family using a poison spell and killing everyone in their headquarters including Jenny and the old lady.

I've only read a few chapters past that, but so far no. Then again Leylin is already considered a wanted man for some of his previous actions which were worse than that.

There is not much hype regarding his poisoning, he literally goes there see them and uses his rank 2 poison and goes away.
There end is like 5 lines in a chapter

Around 270, so still a long way to go. But don't worry, this arc also has lots of great moments.

     They will become irrelavant
  • Does he ever become a Grand Knight? If so what chapter?
If he becomes a Grand Knight will he make himself a Branded Swordsman? If so what chapter and how far does he go with it? His slaves rival a Rank 1 Magus at full power? Does he go beyond that?
Or does he just give up on the warrior path and only focus on magic and increasing his Magus rank?
“But I don’t want to go among mad people" Alice remarked
"Oh, you can’t help that," said the Cat "we’re all mad here. I’m mad. You’re mad."

Well you can understand one thing Knights = LUL he does not care about Knights as his body  is strong being a Warlock
He does not take slaves after that as he does not require them later at rank 4 he is wayyy to powerful to find any slaves to use.
    Yep Magus rock
  • Such a waste. Still a powerup and a decent one at that. Plus he uses Fire attacks which the fire element brand he is working on would improve his fire attacks. I'm not saying use it now but once he perfected it. Its equivalent to a rank 1 magus. And since he is already a Rank 1 magus, combined magus/warrior should make him invincible in his rank

It would do more harm than good. The warlock bloodline, his body is already stronger than a Grand Knight and his spell Crimson Palm gives him pretty good close combat skills. Furthermore, it was already stated in translated chapters that the Brand Swordsmen runes can't be removed. His bloodline has some pretty big effects on his body and the runes can conflict with that and bring him more harm than good.

However, if it makes you feel better he gets a sword used by an ancient Branded Swordsman in order to research it. Haven't gotten to the part where he studied it tho.

How high does Leylin get his elemental conversion rate to before breaking into rank 2? From what has been translated thus far, it's been stated he wants to try and reach at least 90% but is unlikely to reach 100% due to not being an elemental being.

If i remember properly he reaches 100 or close to 100% , there was some reason but i forgot about it

    99%.
After his bloodline upgrade he finds out he's still getting a power boost. Essentially his body is getting closer to the power of the Kemoyin Snake, which is Dark attributed, except it's happening super slowly. He finds a way to speed it up and gets another powerup boosting his elemental essence conversion to 99% and increasing his Spiritual Energy.

  • So is 100% not possible or does he get it later because of conversion? Or does he rise it later on anyways and it was just to hard now and can still be done later?

  • @NoobElite ;
It was mentioned that after transforming body into 100% elemental conversion, you're losing the feeling of touch, and Leylin didn't want to spend eternity like that. It's like Lilytel family's elder I think.

I think it was because the Lilytell elder merged his body with some weird metal thingy, essentially making him a metal man. Makes him pretty hard to kill but he lost stuff like his feeling of touch and fertility. Thats why he cared so much about his grandson that Leylin killed, he was his only descendant.

Shortly after he gets 99% he ranks up to rank 2 and after that it's not mentioned anymore.

So does that mean he can fire off as many dark spells as he wants with almost no use of his spirit power?

He does not bother much as he gain strong attacks when he level up to rank 2 magus and the spells are just child stuff

I believe that elemental affinity only increases the power of spells by the percentage of the affinity so at 99% his spells will be 199% of the power when he was at 0% affinity, only inherent spells gained from rank ups have a lower cost to them.

    Pretty big spoiler
Caesar and Giant are the same person, they practice some weird thing that makes the original person split into 3 bodies, Caesar, Giant and some other dude. Caesar is essentially a mole for the Dark Magus. The reason he bullied Leylin is never explained, but I assume it's because he looked down on him and considered him just a tool to help. When Leylin promotes to rank 2 magus, he accidentally kills Caesar with his new innate spell.
